How Does an Electronic Dart Board Work?
Laser Sensors When a dart hits a laser board, one or more lasers scan the board. When the beam is broken, it can calculate the location of the dart and send the data to the scoring system. It doesn’t matter what type of dart you use; the beam only scans for objects in its path. Electronic Paneling Boards that use electric paneling simply score the dart for the panel struck. Because the panels contain electric circuitry, these boards require users to use soft-tipped darts to avoid damaging the board. Remote Infrared Scoring Some boards incorporate a wireless infrared relay system that reports the score to a transmitter near the board. The transmitter then relays the score via an infrared radio signal to a receiver near the players. The receiver then emits any infrared beams onto the floor that display the score and throwing line. Stands and Mounts Electronic dart boards, just like bristle boards, can be hung from walls or assembled in freestanding cabinets. Wall-mounted boards are typic
