Weight is of three types 1.Gross weight is the weight, which is derived by multiplying Gross weight (in KG) = length (in centimeters) * breadth * Height /6000 2.Net weight: – which is obtained by weighing the Box on measuring scale. 3.Chargeable weight is maximum of (Gross weight or Net weight) Airline charges for the one, which is higher. For example: A box is weighing 10 Kg and its dimensions are 50*45*45 cms. Its chargable weight is =50*45*45/6000=16.87 Kg Now in this case airline will charge for 16.
