How does air temperature affect wind turbines?
The temperature of the wind has a definite effect on turbine performance. A decrease in temperature results in an increase in the density of air which increases the power available in the wind. Cold wind can do a better job of rotating the blades of the turbine, making Saskatchewan a great place to utilize the power in the wind! However, if air is too cold, wind turbines can have trouble operating.
