How Does Age Affect Osteoarthritis Risk?
When we look at the risk factors for osteoarthritis, age is the most prominent risk factor. The older you are, the more likely the risk. So that someone at the age of 40 has a little bit of risk, someone at the age of 80 has a greater risk. Indeed, if you get to the age of 80 — and many of us are these days — the risk of having osteoarthritis is almost 80 percent.
