HOW DOES AERATION AFFECT ALGAE GROWTH?
Our Floating Aerator Fountains provide an economical and attractive way to aerate and help control algae on ponds up to 1 acre. Aeration slows the growth of certain types of algae. The constant mixing and rippling of the water surface diffuses the sunlight and makes it more difficult for algae to spread. WHAT ARE OTHER BENEFITS OF AERATION? Aeration improves color, taste and odor in pond or lake water. This makes the water more suitable for domestic use. Aeration also increases the microbial activity, speeding the decay of organic matter such as leaves, and reducing the likelihood of black or stained water. ARE THE AERATOR FOUNTAINS EASY TO INSTALL? Yes. The FAF-2000 comes fully assembled. The FAF-5000 and FAF-S-50 require only minor hand assembly (no tools required).
