How does advising work at UNCG ?
Each semester, there is a four-week advising/registration period in which faculty and professional advisors meet with students to prepare for the upcoming semester. In the fall, this period begins in mid-October and ends in mid-November, and in the spring, it takes place from mid-March to mid-April. During this peak advising period, students have the opportunity to discuss academic and career opportunities with their advisors. The primary reason for the meeting is to discuss course options for the following semester(s). In addition, students might expect to discuss educational and career goals. Depending upon need, advisors can direct students to the appropriate resources on campus to find assistance.
