How does ACOE support schools?
The role of ACOE has been determined by California’s Education Code and no authority has been given to ACOE to provide direct education to children. Many of our programs and services are related to helping districts improve student achievement in the low-performing schools. This is done in a variety of ways, including professional development courses, assistance with grants, and collaboration with districts and schools on specific educational programs. ACOE’s Student Programs and Services Division oversees the educational programs in the county’s court and community schools.
