How does Accelerated Access work?
The accelerator is designed to provide maximum acceleration for the Web sites you visit most frequently. Specifically, the service speeds up the delivery of Web pages through: Compression – the text and graphics are delivered more efficiently, using Accelerated Access’ proprietary compression technology by reducing the size of Web pages and page elements sent to your browser. In other words, it takes all of the images and text, “squeezes” it into a smaller packet and transmits it to your desktop. When the packets reach your desktop they are uncompressed so they can be viewed. Caching – the accelerator improves your browser’s caching resources. Accelerated Access retains and reuses Web pages and page elements that have previously been sent to your PC.
