Who is Eligible for AARP Dental Insurance? It’s easy to qualify for AARP dental insurance. Applicants need only be active members of AARP to be eligible for coverage. AARP membership is open to adults 50 and older. Membership is available for 1- through 5-year periods, with the annual price of membership decreasing for longer terms. Visit the AARP website for access to an online application. As with other dental plans, the AARP member and applicant can include family members in the dental coverage plan. Eligible family members include a spouse or domestic partner, and unmarried dependent children up to the last day in the month of the child’s 26th birthday. Children with disabilities can maintain coverage beyond their 26th birthday.
