How does a V visa holder apply for the immigrant visa?
When your priority date becomes current, you will be sent a packet of forms to apply for the immigrant visa. If you are residing in the U.S. at the time, you may apply for an adjustment of status with the USCIS, or you may process your immigrant visa application through the Embassy or Consulate named on the immigrant visa petition. If you are in Germany, or your last place of residence before traveling to the United States was in Germany, your application will be processed by this Embassy/Consulate.
