how does a traveling lawn sprinkler work?
Let’s see if I can explain this. You lay a “track” with your watering hose for the traveling sprinkler to follow. You hook the sprinkler, which looks like a miniture tractor, to the end of your watering hose. There is a “stop” that you put in place (if I remember right, it just snaps on the hose) so that when the sprinkler reaches that point, it shuts off. When they work, they do a great job. They cover a large area without alot of hassle. When they don’t work…… you end up with a small lake in the yard! If the sprinkler “jumps the track” it will continue to travel in its’ own direction or fall over (usually) and flood one area until you get home and turn it off. I actually saw one in a neighbors yard the other day while driving through my subdivision. It was off the track and stuck in the mud. I had to go up to the house and turn it off for them. When we used one we also used a manual
