First off, you never, ever want to look for a job on the busiest days of the week! You need to figure out a better time to apply for jobs at retail stores or restaurant. A good time is when they open in the morning before their customer and crowds are there. You need to understand and be sensitive to the type of business you want to work at. I would dress professionally – no jeans, t-shirt, cut-offs, halters, sandals – and look neat and clean. If you can dress in the same type of clothes that you see them working in, that would be good or nicer. Do not go in with your parent or friends and do not talk on the cellphone when you go in to talk to them. A good method would be to walk into the store/restaurant and ask to speak to a manager if they are available.
