How does a supervisor or lab/project supervisor certify a researchers effort?
The ECRT system permits the researcher to certify his or her own effort or the principal investigator to certify to certify the researcher’s effort. Other responsible officials with suitable means of verification, such as lab/project supervisors, may also certify the researcher’s effort. To allow them to do so, the effort coordinator should email ecrt@eresearch.umn.edu stating the reason for the change; the researchers name, x500 and employee ID; and the name, x500 and employee ID of the individual who will be acting as the “certifier”. The effort coordinator will be notified once this change has been made.
