How does a student test into EAP classes?
We are now giving non-native speakers of English who apply to the college the Levels of English Proficiency test (LOEP) in addition to the normal CPT (College Placement Test). As part of the LOEP, the applicant also submits a 30-minute writing sample. The EAP teachers then evaluate the writing sample and LOEP scores to determine if EAP placement is indicated, and if so, which level the student fits into.
