How does a student register for an extra hour of credit?
Credit for more than the stated number of credit hours may be obtained for extra work in a course, under the following stipulations: 1) permission is limited to seniors, those with at least 93 sh; 2) extra credit may not exceed one hour per semester; 3) a brief description of the extra work must be given by the instructor; 4) such extra work may be done only under the supervision of a full‑time instructor; 5) an application form must include signatures showing approval by the instructor of the course, the chair of the department in which it is taught; and the dean of the college in which the course is taught; 6) the department and the Dean’s office must enter a permit on the computer for the extra credit prior to registration. If a student has already registered for the class, s/he will have to wait until the permits have been entered and then drop the class and re‑register for it. This needs to be done prior to the last day to add.
