How does a student learn languages online?
Learning languages online through Apex Learning meets the National Standards for Foreign Language Education. Students learn to communicate by listening to native speakers and experienced speakers in video and audio clips and practicing spoken exercises. Spoken exercises may be recorded, depending on the language course and how long the student has been in the course. Teachers may also contact students for spoken lessons. Written communication is submitted just like any other online written work, and an extra keyboard is given on the screen to allow students to use accents and other punctuation not otherwise available on a standard keyboard. Other standards are met by doing some, all, or more of the following (depending on the course and level): playing games to reinforce recently-learned grammar and vocabulary skills, having the ability to review concepts by seeing the target language only or English only to quiz yourself, going to websites in the target language, watching video clips
