How does a student apply for the Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)?
An applicant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for this grant. The deadline for filing the FAFSA is the same for the ACG (and National SMART Grant) as for all other Title IV programs. Those deadlines are published annually in the Federal Register. It is always best for a student to apply for all types of financial aid as early as possible; however, for 2009-10 the deadline for applying for the grant programs is the same as for the Pell Grant and student loans which is June 30, 2010.
