The sesimograph records information about earthquakes that have alresy happened. Information from seismographs in different locations can be used to map the location of the earthquake. Indirectly the earthquake locations on the map can show where there are zones where they occur. But at this point we can predict certain locations like areas of California and Japan where they are likely to occut but can predict that an earthquake will happen on a certain date in the future.
