A Theory is a model that is based on observation, experiment and reasoning. Similarly a Scientific theory is based on rational examination of facts which is supported by unmistakeable evidence. Whereas on the other hand a guess or an opinion relates to a person’s own point of view. Scientific theories and facts are often interpreted by people moulding them according to their own opinions and thoughts. Thus Guess or opinion is a mere thought which is not supported by clear evidence as opposed to a Scientific Theory that is accompanied by evidence.
