How does a school receive accreditation?
To receive accreditation, a school must demonstrate that the program complies with standards outlined by the American Bar Association and enforced by its Accreditation Committee and Council of the Section of Legal Education and the Bar. Schools with provisional accreditation are evaluated annually to determine whether they meet the standards and must provide a completed self-study, site-evaluation questionnaire, and any other information required by the Accreditation Committee and Council. The Accreditation Committee and Council periodically visit accredited schools to evaluate how well the schools satisfy the outlined standards.
