In the rotary air compressor 1st stage multiple vanes positioned in slot in the rotor, rotates in a cylinder which is off centre w.r.t rotor shaft Suction air entering the cylinder is trapped between successive nanes and get compressed due to reduction in volume as the rotor rotates. Leakage of air thru vanes is prevented by oil film between cylinder wall and vane tip Adv: 1. Increased mass flow 2. Reduced size and efficiency 3. reduiced first stage discharge temperature due to cooling effect of lubricant 4, The suction and discharge ports are located on either side of vane and no necessity of suction and disch.
