How does a Relay Team work?
Relay teams can consist of two or three racers. Each racer registers separately but enters the same Team name so we can group you together under one race number. It does not matter to us which one of you does each segment of the race, however, only one person can do each sport (you cannot do half the swim and let your teammate take over, etc). The relay biker will wait next to the racked bike (with helmet on and buckled). When the swimmer exits the pool and runs into transition, she will take off the timing chip and give it to the biker, who will then put it on her ankle. The biker is then free to unrack her bike and run out of transition to the Mount/Dismount line. The same applies for the runner – she will wait at the bike rack for the biker to return. The biker racks her bike then passes the chip to the runner.
