How does a racing night work?
You will need to organise a race manager who will host the night and provide direction to the guests. We also recommend you allocate 1 bookie for approximately 30 people whose job it will be to take bets. The bookies are given their betting slips, fun money IOUs, pens and race cards and given a table to sit at. Fun money is distributed to the guests and they are then invited to place bets with the bookies. The bookies provide betting slips for each bet placed. The race manager runs the race on the DVD, announces the results and winning punters are invited to collect their ‘winnings’ from the bookie. All in all, just like a real race carnival – but without having to lose the shirt off your back!
