How does a progressive feeder work?

0

While the pump is running the progressive feeder feeds the lubricant to the connected lubrication points one after another. For this to happen, a metering piston always has to complete its stroke before the next one can start its stroke (progressive). The amount of lubricant metered out per stroke depends on the metering volumes of the individual feeder sections. As a result of this operating principle the metering for a particular lubrication point can only be adjusted indirectly via the pump run time. Redundant progressive feeder outlet ports must not be closed since the corresponding metering piston would then be blocked, as would the whole feeder.
