Direct acceptance: This accounts for the majority of players in a draw and is based on a players’ ATP Entry Ranking at the entry deadline. Wild Cards: These are granted at the tournament’s discretion – three are awarded. Qualifying: The qualifying tournament is for players who were not ranked high enough to get into the main draw via ‘direct acceptance’. The Qualifying draw consists of 32 players. The players that win three rounds are placed into the main draw – four in total. Special Exempt: Reserved for players who are unable to compete in the qualifying competition because they are still competing in another singles tournament on the date the qualifying competition begins.
