How does a piston distributor work?
Technically speaking, the piston distributor is a “single point metering unit”. This means that a precisely metered quantity of lubricant is applied to the lubrication point only once during a pump unit’s lubrication cycle. The stroke length of the piston distributor meters the lubricant directly. The amount of lubricant can usually be adjusted at the distributor. Single, unused outlets can be closed. Open outlet ports will continue metering flawlessly.
