How does a physician’s office participate in the program, and what types of physicians are eligible to offer shots?
General and family practitioners, internists and Ob/Gyn physicians in BCBSNC’s network may contact BCBSNC, the North Carolina Medical Society or Maxim Health Systems to participate. Physicians may choose either to set up an in-office clinic or to administer shots by appointment. Those who set up clinics may use their own medical professionals to administer the shots, or they may schedule Maxim health professionals to come in to administer shots.
