How does a pharmacy technician register and are they certified through the Board of Pharmacy?

0

Any pharmacy technician must be registered within 30 days of employment as a technician. A certified pharmacy technician must complete the application for certified pharmacy technician and submit the application with the registration fee of $55. An individual who is not yet certified must complete the application for technician trainee and submit the application with the registration fee of $22. If a person has been employed as a Tech or performing the duties of a Tech for more than 30 days, a penalty will also be applied to the original fee. All fees should be in the form of a check, money order, or cashier’s check payable to the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. The Iowa Board of Pharmacy does not certify technicians. The Board recognizes certification by accredited certification boards. Currently accredited boards are ICPT and PTCB.
