How does a Personnel Assignment Agreement work and what approvals are necessary?
A Personnel Assignment Agreement is a memorandum of understanding between the home institution (UCI) and the assigned location (VA). Since salary and benefits will be paid by the home institution, this agreement authorizes reimbursement from the VA for salary and benefits paid to you while at the assigned location for the specified period of time. This form provides all of the background and financial information necessary to obtain the administrative approvals for the assignment, and can be found on the UCI Academic Personnel Website at http://www.ap.uci.edu/Forms/UCI-AP-paa.doc. The form should be filled out by the UCI investigator, and signatures obtained from both the department Chair and school Dean. It should then be forwarded to the Academic Personnel Office for final approval by the Executive Vice Chancellor.
