How does a person develop leadership communication skills?
A. A person should start developing his or her communication skills early on. My book focuses on the psychology and interpersonal skills involved in effective communications as well as the ability to speak and write well. Other researchers have written on the subject of communications for the business executive, but I believe the foundation of effective leadership communications includes emotional intelligence and cultural literacy, or interpersonal and cross-cultural skills. Individuals interested in developing their communication skills should first work on understanding themselves and their audience. This is as important as developing the ability to write and speak effectively. Q.
