How does a person become a police dog trainer for the RCMP?
To become a police dog trainer, a person has to meet all the requirements of a police doghandler as a regular member of the RCMP. The person has to be a police doghandler in the RCMP and have a vast amount of experience as an RCMP police doghandler in order to meet the competencies required for a trainer position. The person would have to demonstrate their competencies in facilitation techniques and should have extensive involvement in the training of police dogs, police dog teams, and training in general.
