How Does A Night Vision Camera Work
The night vision camera is the latest in security camera technology. Night vision works in two very distinct and different approaches, depending on the technology needed and the price you are willing to spend. The first way is referred to as Image Enhancement and this way gathers a small amount of light, including a small portion of infrared light. The other way is thermal imaging which operates by capturing the higher region of the infrared spectrum, which is transmitted as heat. The main difference in the two night vision camera technologies is how infrared light is handled. The energy adjacent to the visible light wavelength spectrum is the infrared spectrum and is a very small slice of the energy spectrum, which includes visible and invisible light. The three parts of the infrared spectrum are lower (near IR), mid (mid IR) and upper (thermal IR). The main distinction between thermal IR and the other two is, the other two reflect energy and thermal infrared produces infrared energy.
