How Does a Navy Pilot Spend a Workday?
• Typical Day • Navy pilot wings There is a not a typical day for a Navy pilot and 10-hour days are not uncommon. In combat, a pilot is called upon to fly bomber jets, transport planes and helicopters, including flying to and from aircraft carriers. A bomber pilot will go on as many flight missions as necessary each week. In non-combat situations, a navy pilot spends time in training perfecting his flying skills under different conditions. Some of them are also commanders and spend some of their time directing the activities of the troops that work under them. They also engage in administrative duties and writing reports.
