How does a Light Bulb Turn on?
When you flick the switch on the wall, you expect that your light bulb will turn on. Depending on what kind of bulb you use, it makes a difference of just how that happens. Regular, or incandescent, light bulbs turn on when the filament inside gets super-heated. This causes it to glow, and produce the light we see. Fluorescent bulbs have a gas inside that gets activated by the electricity. When it comes in contact with the white coating inside the bulb, it produces visible light.
