How does a lie detector work?
I’ve been told by people, including my parents when I was young that it detects your heart rate, and the heart beats, and whenever you lie, your heart will speed up alittle, and return to normal because of a slight nervousnous that happens when you lie… I don’t know if it’s ture, but it’s logical!
Lie detectors work on the principle that anyone who is lying will be nervous, and they tend to produce more adrenaline which makes their hearts beat faster, their skin temperature go up and makes them sweat more. It measures these things with time so that you can compare the time you asked a certain question with the time on the test read out. They aren’t fool-proof though. Because people generally get nervous anyway if they’re being questioned on a lie detector.
