How does a Legionary relate to his family?
Legionaries love their families. They write to them, send them e-mail messages, talk with them by phone, and if possible, visit them. The Legionaries help their families to be faithful to God’s plan and they pray for them. However, God’s call and the vocation to the religious life imply a detachment from one’s family, full-time dedication to formation and/or apostolate, and sometimes a certain geographic separation. This has not changed since Jesus first called the apostles. Along with the sacrifice, God also gives the necessary graces and always blesses generosity. There are families that see it as a great gift from God to have a priest as a son or brother.
