How Does A Helium Balloon Float In Air?
Helium is less dense than air. This means a ballon filled with helium will weigh less than a balloon of the same size filled with regular air. Weight is how strongly gravity pulls on an object. Gravity pulls downwards on a balloon filled with helium, but it pulls down on the air around it even harder. There’s only so much space next to the ground, and it all gets filled up with air which pushes the helium balloon away because the air is being pulled into the space with more force.
