How does a fundraiser earn a “paid-up” entry into the tournament?
Because of our promise to the Title Sponsor to use the Cup Challenge to leverage their grant, we have set a minimum a Fundraiser needs to gather in pledges and donations to earn a “paid-up” entry into the tournament. A Fundraiser is required to raise $1,000* in monetary gifts (in-kind gifts excluded) to play. Fundraiser’s own personal or corporate sponsorships count towards their total. *please note exception: Funds must be raised as pledges or donations and not in player entrance fees of any level. We want to avoid situations such as a Fundraiser gathering only a single donation of a Benefactor Sponsor for $1,800 resulting in three player entries in the tournament (the Fundraiser “paid-up” entry plus the two (2) entries included the sponsorship). Given this scenario, the Title Sponsor has covered approximately $1,200 in expenses and the school would only receive $1,800, a leverage of only 1.5X the Title Sponsors’ grant, well below our 3X-4X target.
