How does a facilitated self-study course work?
A facilitated self-study Web-based course runs six weeks from start to finish. Participants gain access to the online classroom approximately one week prior to the official start date to navigate the syllabus and the technology. Once a course has ended participants will be able to access the classroom for an additional three weeks to download content and participant/faculty contact information. In total, participants will have upwards of ten weeks to access the course. Each week consists of a focused topic of discussion and weekly assignments; these assignments include discussion questions, reading and a topic-related assignment (i.e. writing assignment, interviews, Web-related research work, etc.). The topic of the week is discussed amongst faculty and course participants within a specific-designed discussion area. By the end of the six weeks participants will have discussed five modules of content and completed their required assignments.
