How does a departmental scholarship affect a students financial assistance package?
Scholarship and grant funds provided by the University may not in themselves, or when combined with state grants, exceed the cost of tuition. the section below replaced with the section above per jl 08/28/07 If the scholarship is received before initial financial assistance award notifications are sent out, the departmental scholarship will be coordinated with their financial assistance. If the scholarship is received after initial notifications are sent out, The scholarship will be applied to the student’s federal unmet need and any remaining scholarship money will go to reduce their loans and/or work.
