How does a customer bill a LOGS car when claiming a LOGS discount?
Customers will need to submit Internet Shipping Instructions via traditional EDI or the BNSF e.Business page. If you do not have Electronic Bill of Lading capabilities, you can contact us at 888-428-2673 or contact LOGS Manager if you have other types of electronic billing arrangements. A Forest Products Permit field has been added to the Internet Bill of Lading format. Customers must enter their LOGS permit number into the Forest Products Permit field. Without the permit number field entered with your correct permit number you WILL NOT receive the LOGS discount. For mainframe bill of lading users, REN has a Forest Products Permit field. If you have any questions contact the Manager of Logs at 817-867-LOGS (5647). When billing the cars the permit number MUST be placed in the correct field on the bill of lading.
