How does a Curtis model 700/701 hour meter differ from most other LCD hour meters in the market?
Most other LCD hour meters in the market use a battery to power the LCD and to store the accumulated time. This battery is likely to wear out, especially at extreme high or low temperatures. The Curtis hour meter uses does not use a battery to retain the accumulated time. Rather, it detects when power has been removed and stores the accumulated time in a non-volatile memory. This memory will store the accumulated time, without power, for up to 25 years.
