How Does a Curtain Panel Work?
What are Curtain Panels? Curtain panels are constructed of large pieces of fabric that have either been sewn together or have been finished around their edges to be hung alone. They can be constructed to be purely functional (by blocking sunlight, reducing drafts or increasing privacy), strictly decorative or both. Curtains generally consist of panels that are suspended from a rod that is hung slightly above the window on the wall. There are loops of fabric or decorative hardware that attach the curtain to the curtain rod. Functional Curtain Panels Curtains can block out light from entering or leaving a room. Often when used for this function, the curtains are either lined with a thick material or are themselves very thick to inhibit the passage of light. Sheer curtains, as the name suggests, are those made from fabric that is light and airy and able to be seen through. Sheer curtains allow the passage of light but offer a degree of privacy as they are difficult to see through from the
