How does a car hauler keep cars safe during transport on the highway?
The car haulers used by auto transport companies are the same car haulers used by automobile manufacturers to transport cars from factories to dealerships. The cars to be transported are driven onto the car hauler and locked into place using specialized equipment. Cars that are in non-running condition are pulled or pushed onto the hauler, requiring an additional fee. The cars are immobilized during their journey and, if requested, some cars travel under a car cover. In the very unlikely event that a car is damaged, the company operating the hauler maintains insurance that will cover repair costs that are incurred by damage occurring during transport.
