How does a camcorder work?
Basically, a camcorder is a camera with a built-in videocassette recorder. It stores images and sound using videotape instead of film and records the audio through a microphone on the front. After light passes through an optical lens assembly, it is focused onto a chip that has tiny dots called pixels (picture elements). The chip converts these pixels into electrical signals that are recorded.
