How does a BrightSource Energy power plant work?
Unlike solar photovoltaic technologies, which convert sunlight directly to electricity through silicon or other solid-state materials, BrightSource Energy’s solar thermal technology converts sunlight to heat, in the form of steam or hot air that is then used to drive a turbine to produce electricity. The technology used by BrightSource is called Luz Power Towers, or LPT.

The technology used by BrightSource is called Dynamic Power Tower, or DPT.
