How Does a Basketball Statistician Spend a Workday?
A basketball statistician is responsible for keeping track of all the activity during a basketball game. A statistician can work for various types of companies, including official organizations, such as the NBA or NCAA, magazines, schools, teams or media organizations. Regardless of where the statistician works, the job stays pretty much the same. Game Day On a game day, a statistician usually works with other statisticians to keep accurate statistics for the game. Each statistician has an area of focus for the game. In most cases, the statistics are entered onto standardized forms to make recording and tracking them easy. A statistician has to be able to keep an eye on the game while recording statistics. Other Responsibilities Some statisticians are responsible for giving statistics to commentators during a game.
