Towards the end of 3rd grade, teachers screen students based on district criteria and are refered for GATE testing in June. The child’s parent will be contacted through a letter, outlining the details of testing. If your child is not invited to test in June, they will be screened during the summer once test scores from STAR are available. Every 3rd grader is screened for GATE.
