How does a 12 volt portable air conditioner work?

I am an RCA and I solved this problem partially. I simply bought a 48 quart red cooler at WALMART. Next I cut two holes in the top, one in back blows air into cooler, using ATTWOOD 4″ 12V fan. Then bought 3″ PVC 90 degrees for front top output from cooler. Air comes out of the 3″ PVC tube. Also bought an 4″ adjustable plastic extension drain tube to connect to 3″ PVC tube. Plus plastic 4″ coupler at LOWES, cost $0.98 for coupler and maybe $4.50 for other piece that attaches to coupler. I connected the fan to 12V and used a 150 watt rherostat ($8), though a 12v DC dimmer would work too. Motor can pull up to 4.4 amps. This controls speed of the fan and all speeds are available. rheostats are just adjustable resistors, 0-25 ohms is perfect. anything more and it is simply off. I built my own box for rheostat and made a nob for it too with steel putty. Now simply fill with frozen water bottles and plug it in cigarrest lighter and presto you have air conditioning right on your head for 3-4 h

sounds like a fan to me,any electric A/C unit is going to draw way more amps than a factory stock alternator can deliver, sounds like you need to just get her a small automotive oscillating portable fan to blow on her, they plug into the cigg. lighter.
