How does a 1 yr old travel in an airplane??
If you are taking them as a lap child and not paying for their ticket, they have to do just that, sit on your lap, or if you are lucky sit in the chair next to you if it’s empty. I like to request the bulkhead seats, this gives you the wall in front of you and no other seat their… and a bit of space for your child to play on the floor. I have never seen anyone with a 1 year old in a car seat on an airplane.. I have seen them with their own seat strapped in the seat belt the way we do… best wishes, but call the airline or look them up online for more details on their restrictions, etc…
I’m flying in three weeks with a 4 month old and I had two options on the airline I’m going on…I could spend the money and buy a seat for the baby and have her travel in a car seat or I could carry her on my lap and have her travel for free. Its different for different airlines but that was my two choices. Now, to make things even better the airline told me they normally try to keep the seat next to someone with a baby empty so I’ll most likely be able to put her in her own seat anyway, for free because I chose to carry her on my lap.
